Our Lady of Remédios, stands gracefully at an altitude of 2000 ft, above the town. The granite staircase has literary hundreds of steps, 686 steps to be exact, zigzagging stairs, decorated with friezes and Azulejo blue and white tiles.

We have arrived in Lamego; we are dropped off on the tip-top of Monte de São Estevão near the most striking building of Lamego. The church of Our Lady of Remédios, stands gracefully at an altitude of 2000 ft, above the town. Follow J. Christina as we travel through Portugal in this 2016 series.
